KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 β Police will meet former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki next week over allegations he threatened businessman Albert Tei.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk M Kumar said police had already contacted Azam and would record his statement in the coming days.
βSo far, we have made contact and a meeting will be arranged next week,β he said yesterday, as reported by national broadcaster Buletin TV3.
Yesterday, media reports said Azam had confirmed he was in contact with police over the allegations and was considering legal action against Tei.
Yesterday, police said Azam would be called in soon to assist investigations into the alleged threats made against the businessman.
M Kumar also said investigators had so far recorded statements from two witnesses β Tei and a lawyer believed to have relayed information linked to the alleged threat.
